As a destination, Pedong has the perfect ambiance for the relaxed traveler, alongside a touch of history to beckon with. Pedong takes a minimum of 3 to 4 days of a traveler's time to completely showcase what it has to offer. Part of the Sikkim and Darjeeling Himalayas, Pedong is located at an altitude of around 5000 feet, along the slope of the Damsang ridge. The altitudinal variation ranges from the sub tropical at the Rishi Valley to Alpine at the Damsang ridge. All around are the majestic and verdant hills of Lava, Rachela in the east, the snow capped mountains of the eastern Himalayas in the North and Rikkisum in the south. The terrain is easily negotiable and provides some of the most breath taking views of the landscape including the Omni present Kanchenjunga in the backdrop.

It touches the border of East Sikkim at a distance of 16 Kms and is well connected to all major towns and also nearby popular tourist destinations like Lava, LoleyGaon, Rishop, Charcoal, Aritaar which are all within an average distance of 1hr to 1.5hrs.

Best time to visit
Other than the monsoon period of mid July to mid September the region can be visited throughout the year. The best time to visit according to us personally is the off-season period wherein the crowds are less and one can expect a complete personal holiday. The lean period is usually from 15th Jan to April 10th and mid November to mid December.
